We all know that someday, soon, this prohibition will end.
I spent 5 years in Federal Prison for a marijuana offense.
The memorable day that I met with the parole panel, I asked, “When pot becomes legal, what will my 5 years spent in prison have meant?”
Their response, “That is a very philosophical question. We don’t deal with philosophy in this office.”
Case closed…go back to your cell.
When the 5 years were gone, I walked out and never looked back. But, I know to this day, there are thousands of Americans still rotting in jail over a plant.

I would hate to have experienced your punishment and worse yet have to be reviewed by tyrants with no real world sense š¦ I am fortunate that I stuck my neck out a few times in court , one time over a year in and out for a possession charge , they really wanted to turn it in to a trafficking charge when half the bag of weed was roaches… When my conviction day came up my free lawyer stood up and boldly stated that they could not charge me with trafficking because of the roaches nor could they charge me with possession since I was in a private dwelling. The prosecution piped up that they could charge me and punish me then my lawyer asked to provide the Judge with the packed mini bag of Cannabis I had when I was arrested during the raid. The judge then asked if any of the officers were even present after they did not provide the evidence. None were present. The Judge then looked at me and ordered me free. He then lectured the prosecution for attempting to have me punished for something they could not punish me for without evidence. My friend who’m I was visiting was caught with 3 pounds of Cannabis some of the best Cannabis to ever grace the planet. He was given a few weekends in prison. We learned if you do no fight from the get go you will be majorly raped in court because prosecutors have a quota to fill prisons and do not care about people not even the people who were wrong done by for real , these are faceless subhumans not people like you and I. Cheers.
I am with you as to ‘fight from the go’…
My arrest was in 1981…I asked my over-paid lawyer about explaining to the jury, the laws were wrong and do not belong in a ‘free’ country…
His words, “That’s not the way things work.”
I should have fired his ass on the spot.
I didn’t realize it then, but what I was suggesting was ‘jury nullification.’
If our citizens would put this concept into practice, the ‘war on drugs’ would be over.
Glad to see you retained your freedom…sorry your friend had to waste his time…
